Fellow readers and patient supporters,
Time for a quick update on what’s happening in the writing trenches! My project timeline has evolved like a battle plan adapting to new terrain, and I want to keep you in the loop.
The Military Sci-Fi Short Story Gets an Upgrade
Remember those two separate short stories I mentioned? I’ve decided to combine them into one. David Carter will be in the military sci-fi starship combat story! He should have space marine experience, right? This gives me the chance to explore his background while delivering the space battles I’ve been itching to write.
This will be my next project after I finish drafting Riding a Pale Hobby Horse.
Galaxy Building in Progress
Progress on Riding a Pale Hobby Horse has slowed a bit this past week because I’ve been deep in world building mode, flushing out the galaxy information for the Out of the Cold universe. But this groundwork is paying off in unexpected ways. While building that galaxy, I’ve made significant headway on:
The outline for the sequel to Out of the Cold (which will definitely be my next full novel)
A general synopsis for Book 3 in the Out of the Cold series
The Updated Project Timeline
Here’s how things are lining up:
Finish drafting Riding a Pale Hobby Horse (currently in progress)
David Carter Military Sci-Fi short story (next up)
Out of the Cold Book 2 (next novel, outline in progress)
Out of the Cold Book 3 (synopsis percolating)
Adventures of Dirk & Felix Book 3 (future brainstorming)
Mirathel Trilogy (maybe start outlining in 2026?)
The Mirathel trilogy will have to wait, while my brain wants to play in a whole new galaxy.

Reviews help more readers discover the books, and I genuinely appreciate everyone!
What are you most excited about? David’s military sci-fi adventure? More Out of the Cold? Book 3 with Dirk and Felix?
P.S. Yes, my writing roadmap now extends years into the future. No, I don’t know how I’ll write it all. But that’s a problem for Future Perrin to solve.
P.P.S. Happy Thanksgiving!
